As good as the Hurricanes' 2001 National Championship team was, the 2000 team was just as good too. They were one loss away from playing in the National championship game against Oklahoma. It doesn't matter who the QB is when you have Reggie Wayne on one side and Santana Moss on the other side then Jeremy Shockey down the middle. Clinton Portis didn't start until the next year on their 2001 team. On the defense of the 2000 team you had Ed Reed at safety and Dan Morgan at inside linebacker. DJ Williams and Jonathan Vilma didn't start until the 2001 team. I can't think of a roster stacked with talent in the last 20 years like the Miami Hurricanes from 2000 - 2003.

USC Trojans might have some comparable rosters.
ReplyDeleteI like the Trojans rosters the years before them winning those national championships. When they had Carson Palmer, Justin Fargas, and Polamalu.
